Editorial Policy
Transparency about how our content is researched, written, reviewed, and updated.
Our editorial process
Every article follows a four-stage process before it is published:
1. Research & drafting. We gather the relevant primary literature and draft the article, sourcing every factual claim to a PubMed-indexed study or equivalent peer-reviewed source.
2. Medical writer edit. A writer with a life-sciences background verifies the accuracy of each claim and the integrity of every citation.
3. Scientific review. A credentialed reviewer (PhD or MD) checks the article for scientific accuracy and assigns an evidence grade.
4. Signed & published. The reviewer’s name and credentials appear on the published page. Articles are revisited and updated as the evidence evolves.
Our evidence grading
We grade the strength of evidence behind each claim or mechanism:
- Grade A — Strong, consistent evidence from multiple well-designed human studies.
- Grade B — Moderate evidence; some human data, or consistent findings with limitations.
- Grade C — Preliminary or preclinical evidence; mechanistic or early-stage data.
Sourcing standards
We prioritise peer-reviewed primary research, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. We avoid citing forums, anecdotal reports, or promotional material as evidence.
Commercial disclosure
Some articles contain links to commercial products. Where a commercial relationship exists, it is disclosed on the relevant page. Commercial relationships never influence our evidence grades or scientific conclusions.
